Your Time Is an Amazing Gift and Resource

Become a room parent. Room parents are an important resource for teachers and parents and help ensure every class is connected and informed. 

 

Help with events. Carthay hosts many events throughout the year, from a Fall Carnival to a Science Fair, and we are always in need of volunteers.

 

Donate a skill. We can always use your skills! Bilingual translators, graphic designers, SEO/Web designers, marketing, communication, grant writers.  

 

Help in the garden. Parents and community volunteers are a vital part of our gardens. Carthay hosts monthly volunteer days as well as weekly garden maintenance days. No experience is necessary. Learn from our Master Gardeners and help keep the garden growing. Email CarthayPTAGarden@gmail.com 

 

Join a committee. Arts Committee (identify arts-related assemblies and programs to enhance our students education); DEI Committee (identify improvements that guarantee all students and families feel welcomed regardless of race, gender, LGBTQ+ identities, religion, physical abilities, learning abilities, or home language);  Environmental Committee (identify eco-friendly improvements, explore grants to ensure our campus is as green as possible).

Attend a PTA Meeting. Carthay PTA hosts meetings the second Tuesday of the month. All are welcome to attend, regardless of membership status. This is a great way to stay informed of upcoming school events, activities and programs.
